A Baldwin man is in jail on drug trafficking charges. 52-year-old John Mark Sims was arrested Wednesday at his home at 277 Hubert Harris Road.
Drug agents arrested Sims following a six month long investigation, according to a news release from the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office (ARDEO).
Officers from ARDEO, the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office, Department of Community Supervision, and Department of Corrections’ K-9 Unit executed a search warrant on Sims’ residence on December 12. During the search they say they seized 6 ounces of methamphetamine, 5 ounces of marijuana, a handgun, and $1,660 in cash.
The street value of the drugs is $20,000.
Sims was arrested and charged with trafficking methamphetamine, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of marijuana. He was transported to the Habersham County Detention Center.
