The City of Baldwin Water System has issued a Boil Water Advisory for some city water customers. The advisory was issued as a precaution due to a water main break in the 1400 block of Willingham Avenue, according to Baldwin Public Works Director Scott Barnhart.
The following roads are in this advisory area:
Willingham Avenue from City Hall to Norfolk Southern Railroad bridge, Little Poplar Drive, Shore Street, Walden Street, Spring Street, King Street, Owens Andrews Drive, Summit Street, Smokerise, Crooked Pine Trail, Homer Road, Park Avenue, Baldwin Heights, Windy Knoll subdivision, Banks Ridge subdivision, Church Street, Ivory Drive, Baldwin Falls Road, Presley Drive, Kimsey Street, Scott Street, Switzerland Road, Parker Street, Chatham Street, Williams Street, and all customers in the Banks County area of service.
Customers in these areas who have experienced water outages or low water pressure are advised to use only boiled tap water or bottled water for drinking, cooking, or preparing food. Affected customers should bring water to a rolling boil for at least two minutes before consuming it.
Water samples are being tested for possible contamination. The advisory is in effect until further notice.
