Dr. Seuss said it best when he stated, “You’re never too old, too wacky, too wild, to pick up a book and read to a child…”

In celebration of Read Across America Week, Baldwin Elementary School students participated in fun activities to promote reading.

The week-long event kicked off on March 2. It’s held annually to coincide with the birthday of beloved children’s author Theodor Seuss Geisel, better known as Dr. Seuss.

At Baldwin Elementary, they celebrated in true Seussical style.

From dressing up, eating green eggs and ham, making oobleck, answering trivia questions about Dr. Seuss on the morning show, creating artwork based on books, or visiting with the Cat in the Hat, students were inspired to read every day.

The week-long celebration ended on Friday, but teachers hope the love of reading it instilled in their students will last them a lifetime.
