Baldwin will hold its 26th annual Clean-up Day on Saturday, April 19. Staff, residents, and volunteers will clean up litter and debris around the city as part of the town’s spring cleaning.

The cleanup will occur throughout the city’s public areas, such as right-of-ways and parks. According to Mayor Stephanie Almagno, the town will also plant a tree.

The event will begin at 9 a.m. and conclude at noon at Mitchell Gailey Park at 155 Willingham Avenue.

Immediately following lunch, an Easter Egg Hunt will also be held, where children can receive various prizes.

Ongoing clean-up efforts

Baldwin’s Clean-up Day event coincides with clean-up operations that have been ongoing over the last week. Public Works crews have been going around the city picking up junk and debris that residents and property owners have placed on the right-of-ways and curbs.

Residents had to sign up for this service before April 11. Pick-ups began on Monday, April 14, and will continue until all items have been picked up. The city informed residents that it would be collecting items that normally must go to the landfill, including appliances, scrap metal, and furniture. Tires, batteries, and paint cans will be accepted, but they had to be separated from other items.
