Baby among four taken to hospital after accident in Hollywood

A 5-month-old baby was one of four people involved in a two-vehicle crash Saturday on GA 15/US 441 in north Habersham.

The baby boy was in a vehicle with his parents returning home to Cape Coral, Florida when the accident happened.

Trooper Vance Henry says the boy’s father, Javier Alfonso Bravo, was driving south on GA 15/US 441. Bravo’s vehicle  struck a northbound Honda Civic as it crossed into the intersection, turning left onto Talmadge Drive.

The Civic was driven by 50-year-old Angela Tinsley of Colbert.

Conflicting reports

There are conflicting reports about what caused the accident. Bravo said he had a green light when the other car pulled in front of him. A witness said Bravo ran the red light.

Tinsley was transported to Habersham Medical Center for treatment.

The baby was properly restrained in a car seat but his parents were not wearing their seatbelts, Trooper Henry says. The family was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville. The child’s mother was most seriously injured. She was kept in the hospital overnight. The others were treated and released.

Possible charges are pending.
