Dick Stafford is a career educator who has taught 30 years in public schools, colleges and universities. He holds a degree in political science and a degree in journalism. He has been a television news reporter for an ABC affiliate and a morning news anchor for an ABC radio affiliate. He has written six books of fiction and nonfiction, several stage plays and musicals, and over 100 magazine articles, including personal interviews with New York Times editor, Frank Rich, and playwrights Arthur Miller and Edward Albee. He was selected for a Fulbright Teaching Scholarship and has traveled to 43 countries, including a five week journey to India sponsored by Rotary International. He has been honored five times as Professor/Teacher of the Year. In addition to a writer for Now Habersham, Stafford also is a professor at Georgia State University. His oldest son, Daniel, is an attorney, and is married to an attorney in New York. His younger son, Kirk, is married and lives in Atlanta. Kirk is partners in Bigflower.com, an online men's store with a store front on Long Island in The Hamptons. His wife is an international restaurant designer. Dick's wife is a principal in Gwinnett. The Stafford's have resided in Habersham County for twenty-seven years.
