“We did it Braves country!” And with that, Atlanta Braves Manager Brian Snitker celebrated the pinnacle of his 45-year career with the organization he joined as a minor league player in 1977.
Snitker’s post-game celebration Saturday came moments after the Braves won the National League pennant in Game 6 of the NLCS. The Braves beat the defending world champion Dodgers 4-2 in front of a hyped-up hometown crowd at Truist Park. They now take on the ALCS champion Houston Astros in the World Series starting Tuesday, October 26 in Houston.
It will mark the first trip to the Series for the Braves since 1999.
“We’ve waited a long time and these fans have been behind us the entire time. They deserve it as much as these guys here,” said Atlanta Braves General Manager Alex Anthopoulos.

The Braves led the NLCS throughout. “They’ve allowed themselves to be right here right now,” Snitker said. “I never thought it would happen quite honestly. This is something that I sit in my easy chair and watch everybody else do.”
“This is absolutely incredible,” said Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman. He credited the Braves fans for sticking with the team, even as they sat at .500 halfway through the regular season.
“They came out to support us all year. What we did in the second half and in the postseason is because of them,” Freeman said.
Eddie Rosario was named NLCS MVP. He finished the series with a .560/.670/1.040 batting line and a postseason series record-tying 14 hits. Rosario drove in nine runs in the six games.
The World Series returns to Atlanta October 29-31 for Games 3 and 4 and Game 5 if needed. Tickets and parking for the World Series at Truist Park will go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, October 26, according to the Braves’ website.
