A 26-year-old Athens woman has been arrested and charged with involuntary manslaughter and reckless conduct after a man was shot and killed in Athens.
Jeremy Howard, 31, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries and later died, according to a news release from the Athens-Clarke County Police Department (ACCPD). The shooting happened in the 100 block of Nowhere Road on June 12.
Police arrested Heather McCall and charged her in connection to the shooting.
ACCPD Public Information Officer Lt. Jody Thompson says there was a history of domestic and family violence between Howard and McCall. However, investigators are not saying at this time whether that had anything to do with Wednesday’s shooting.
Thompson says the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Johnson at 762-400-7060 or email [email protected].
