Authorities have recovered a heap of stolen property after an investigation into a series of recent storage unit burglaries, according to the Athens-Clarke County Police Department.
The Athens-Clarke County Police Department’s Property Crimes Unit executed search warrants at two locations: a residence in the 100 block of Westwood Drive and a storage unit at a business in the 3700 block of Old Jefferson Road.
The warrants, along with the recent recovery of a stolen vehicle, led to the retrieval of numerous items connected to more than 30 storage unit burglaries throughout Athens-Clarke County.
“ACCPD would like to remind the public of these simple tips when utilizing storage units,” Sergeant Brian O’Neill said. “Document the make, model, and serial number of stored items. Take pictures of these stored items. Periodically check on the condition of your storage unit. These simple tips can go a long way toward recovering your belongings if they were ever stolen.”
