Athens man arrested in drug trafficking bust

Police seize cocaine, oxycodone, marijuana, and cash during search

ATHENS – A 67-year-old Athens man is facing drug trafficking charges following a search of his residence on Westchester Drive.

Will Crawford Dean was arrested after the Northeast Georgia Regional Drug Task Force executed a search warrant on April 9. Agents say they discovered over 8 ounces of powder and crack cocaine, oxycodone pills, and packages of marijuana prepared for distribution during the search. Additionally, they seized $4,200 in cash and Dean’s vehicle.

Authorities charged Dean with trafficking in cocaine, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, and possession of Schedule II narcotics with intent to distribute.
