Athens-Clarke County police are searching for two suspects they say carjacked a woman at gunpoint Tuesday night.
The 41-year-old woman was leaving a gated community on Scandia Circle around 11:30 p.m. when the incident occurred.
“As she waited for the gate to open, two males approached her vehicle, pointed firearms at her, and made her exit the vehicle,” says Athens-Clarke County Police Lt. Shaun Barnett.
Police say the carjackers drove off in the woman’s vehicle but apparently abandoned it. Patrol officers later found the unoccupied vehicle.
