Athens-Clarke County police are investigating a suspicious death that occurred over the weekend.
Police responded to a call of an injured person at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, on Trail Creek Trail near the intersection of Oak Ridge Avenue and Vine Street in Athens.
At the scene officers located Santonio Coleman, 48, who was transported to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries.
Detectives have opened an investigation into Coleman’s death but do not believe there is any danger to the public at this time.
