Athens Christian pulls away late to beat TFS

The Lady Indians continue to show great improvement in their first varsity season. On Thursday, they took on region foes Athens Christian in their home opener.

Despite dropping a 12-1 final, the Lady Indians held tight at 4-1 heading into the fourth. The visitors put up two runs in each of the first two frames. After a scoreless top of the third, TFS came to bat and quickly made things interesting.

Charlotte laced a two-out double to right and advanced to third on the play. Katie Anderson then got the program’s first-ever triple, a linter to center to score Stafford and make it a 4-1 game. She was stranded on third to end the threat.

Athens Christian added three in the fourth and five in the third to secure the win. Callie Craver took the loss but struck out four in five innings while allowing just three earned runs. Tallulah Falls moves to 0-6 on the season and 0-3 in region play.
