An exhibition of sculpture by Athens artist Zipporah Camille Thompson is on display now through Oct. 3 at the Piedmont College Mason-Scharfenstein Museum of Art in Demorest.
A reception and artist’s talk will be held from 5–7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 15.
Thompson’s exhibition “Ultraviolet Horizons” includes work made from a variety of materials, which Thompson said “explores ritual and alchemical transformations through the unknown and through universals, including death, catastrophe, chaos, and the cosmos.”
Thompson received her MFA from the University of Georgia in 2015, and her BFA from the University of North Carolina Charlotte.
The Mason-Scharfenstein Museum of Art is located at 567 Georgia Street, Demorest. Admission is free, and museum hours are 9 a.m.–5 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
