Artis “Viney” Livey Kritner

Artis “Viney” Livey Kritner, age 72, of Alto, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at his residence following an extended illness.

Mr. Kritner was born on December 3, 1951, in Magee, Mississippi, to the late Bob and Mary Kritner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine Lois Kritner, seven brothers, and four sisters. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Artis found joy in the great outdoors, where he pursued his love for fishing and the camaraderie of tossing horseshoes with friends. Also known as “Viney,” he was a diligent and hardworking man who dedicated himself to various professions throughout his lifetime. From his days as a logger to his work as a skilled carpenter and also working in the flooring industry. Above all, Viney cherished his role as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and was affectionately known to his grandchildren as “Papa.”

Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Lois and Clayton Azevedo, of Toccoa; Mary Burrell and David Simms, of Madison County; grandchildren, Jeff and Cassie Kritner, Ryan Adams, Ronny Adams and Whitney Lequire, Katie Azevedo, Kyle Burrell, Krystal Burrell and Tony Murray, Chandler Burrell; ten great-grandchildren, Brinley, Axtin, Draylon Murray, Levi Burrell, Jacob King, Gloria Jenkins, Rian Justice Adams, Jonah Adams, Noah Lequire, Amber, and nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
