Artis Haynes, age 78 of Lula, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at his residence.
Born in Lula, Georgia on January 19, 1938, he was a son of the late Addie Grover Haynes & Cleo Loggins Haynes. Mr. Haynes retired as an industrial mechanic with Peachtree Doors. He also enjoyed cattle farming, hunting, & fishing. Mr. Haynes was of the Baptist faith and was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters & brothers, Annie Bell Evanoff, Fred Duncan Haynes, Dorothy Shed, Ruby Dodson, Dennis Haynes, & Truitt Haynes.
Survivors include his wife, Kathryn Murray Haynes of Lula; son, Tim Haynes, of Lula; daughters and sons-in-law, Myra & Dwayne Roberts of Lula, Amy & Roger Keebaugh of Alto; grandchildren, Lauren Roberts and husband, Scott Gaddis, Sydney Haynes, Roger Lee Keebaugh, III, Sarah Keebaugh, and a number of nieces & nephews.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 30, 2016 from the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home with Rev. Drewery Loggins and Rev. Ronnie Loggins officiating. Interment will follow in the Westview Cemetery in Lula, Georgia.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday.
