A North Georgia man has been arrested for his alleged role in a fatal shooting on Tuesday, Jan. 28.
Detectives have charged Johnny Mays Blackshear Jr., 54 of Stockbridge, with malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of certain crimes following a fatal shooting. Blackshear is currently being held in the Gwinnett County Jail. The victim in this case has been identified as 26-year-old Jordan Calloway of Duluth. Blackshear is the stepfather of the deceased.
The shooting occurred on the evening of January 28, at approximately 7:30 p.m. Officers assigned to the Central Precinct responded to a report of a person shot at the intersection of Venture Parkway and Market Street. After identifying Blackshear as the suspect, investigators coordinated with the Walton County Sheriff’s Office, which conducted a traffic stop on Blackshear’s vehicle. He was taken into custody without incident.
