Tropical Storm Helene has caused widespread power outages and prompted numerous road closures across Georgia. Public safety officials are asking people to stay off the roads unless it is absolutely necessary to travel.
In Habersham and neighboring counties, there are reports of numerous trees down, several involving power lines. Numerous traffic signals are also dark. If you must travel, treat non-functioning traffic lights as four-way stops.
