Local rising high school seniors will get the chance to participate in the prestigious Washington Youth Tour (WYT) in June. This all-expenses-paid leadership program, sponsored by electric cooperatives across the country, will run from June 13-20.

The WYT aims to inspire young people to become strong, motivated leaders within their communities and country. The highlight is a trip to Washington, D.C., where students will visit national monuments and learn more about our nation’s history. Last year, Georgia’s delegation joined over 1,500 other delegates representing 44 states’ EMCs on the trip.

To be eligible for the 2025 WYT, applicants must be high school juniors at least 16 years old and live within an EMC service area.

Interested students may obtain application forms from their local EMC office and website or school counselor’s office.

Applications are available from Habersham EMC for students living in Habersham, Hall, Lumpkin, Rabun, Stephens, and White counties. Click here to apply.

The application deadline is January 31.
