A groundbreaking ceremony was held Thursday for a new community bank in Cleveland. Apex Banking Company of Georgia broke ground for the new facility to be located at the intersection of Appalachian Parkway and Parkway Plaza in Cleveland, next to Zips Car Wash.

Ryan Tucker, President and CEO, said they look forward to serving the community.

“In order to get operational in the most quick and efficient manner we can, we will be opening a temporary full-service branch no later than July to begin operating and providing products and services to the community,” commented Tucker.

The temporary building will allow Apex to serve customers during the construction of a new bank building, which Tucker said is expected to be completed in 2025.

Most of the bank’s board members come from White and Habersham counties.

“[There’s] nothing like having local leadership to make those local decisions,” said Tucker.

Apex Chairman of the Board Marc Greene said, “Under Ryan’s leadership, Apex will bring a new level of dedication to community banking in our area. We’re excited to serve our neighbors, and we look forward to helping our North Georgia communities thrive.”
