There’s another water line break in Habersham County tonight, this time in Demorest.
Officials report a water line break at Kmart on Historic 441. Water department crews are working in cold wet conditions as a water pump has frozen leaving no way to cut the water flow. There are no outages expected and crews hope to have the pump and line fixed in a few hours.
Demorest Mayor Rick Austin warmed up the crew by bringing them hot coffee. Mother nature will lend a helping hand tomorrow as temperatures are expected to warm up a bit.
A water main burst in Clarkesville around 4pm today. Crews say the cold weather contributed to the break.
