Annette McCollum Allen Turpen, age 85 of the Blue Creek Community, Cleveland, Georgia went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 21, 2021.
Born on September 13, 1936, she was a daughter of the late William Paul & Daisy Irene Miles McCollum. Annette was a 1954 graduate of White County High School and served as the secretary of the White County Middle School for over 20 years. In later years, Annette enjoyed traveling, listening to good Southern Gospel Music, and lovingly volunteered with the Habersham Medical Center Auxiliary for many years. Most of all, she enjoyed precious time with her family. Annette was a member of Mossy Creek United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Herbert Allen, second husband, N.U. Turpen; son, Blake Anthony Allen; brothers-in-law, Randall Landers & Bill Meeks.
Survivors include her grandson & granddaughter-in-law, Josh & Kelly Allen; great-grandchildren, Piper & Niko Allen; former daughter-in-law, Valerie Baker Lyle; sisters, Sue Landers & Doris Meeks; step-children, Terry & Ginger Jennings, Wesley & Becky Turpen, Laura & Walter Matlock; step-grandchildren, Ashley Cartwright, Matt Jennings, Langston Brady Turpen, Madeline Turpen, & Mallory Barber; step-great-grandchildren, Sarah & Hannah Cartwright, Easton & Stella Jennings, Aubrey Turpen; aunt, Katie McCollum; sister-in-law & brother-in-law, Yvonne & Charles Lindsay; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, & a host of friends.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 25, 2021, at Amy’s Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Kenneth McEntire officiating.
