Ann Lanning Johnson, age 76, of Lula, Georgia went to her heavenly home where she was reunited with her mother on Thursday, August 11, 2022.
Ms. Johnson was born on August 26, 1945, in Gaston County, North Carolina to the late Paul J. Lanning, Sr., and Evelyn Ruth Crisp Lanning. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Bobby Wayne Johnson, Jr.; brother, Paul James Lanning, Jr; sister, Evelyn Paulette Gregory. Ann was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, and neighbor. Ann was known as “Granny” and “Granny Ann” to her grandchildren.
Ann was loved deeply by her family and they will all miss their “best friend”.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Amanda Roxanne Bray and Johnny, of Homer; son, Douglas Wayne Johnson, of Alto; sister and brother-in-law, Sarah Kathleen Burnette and Ken Burnette, Jr., of Dallas, NC; and five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; and special family and special friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, August 14, 2022, at the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel with Rev. Ken Burnette officiating. Interment will follow in the Baldwin City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, August 13, 2022, at the funeral home
