Andelin Hill named CCS Player of the Week for fifth time

ATLANTA – For the second consecutive week and the fifth time overall this season, Piedmont women’s basketball senior forward Andelin Hill has been named the Collegiate Conference of the South Player of the Week, the league announced Monday afternoon.

Hill continued her dominant play this past week, with two more double doubles as she helped the Lions to a pair of critical conference home wins.

The Blairsville, Georgia native now has nine double doubles on the season and five total games with at least 20 points and 10 rebounds, including three in a row.

This week, Hill started things off with a career-high 24 points to go with 15 rebounds and three blocks as the Lions powered past LaGrange 81-65. Then, she added another dominant performance against Belhaven, torching the Blazers for 22 points and 13 rebounds in a Saturday victory.

Her outstanding play of late has the Lions alone at the top of the CCS standings as the lone undefeated team at 6-0.

Up next, Piedmont is slated to take on Covenant at home tomorrow, Jan. 21 at 5 p.m.
