Alleged meth ring members busted in North Georgia

Law enforcement arrested four members of an alleged North Georgia meth trafficking ring this month and two Alto residents are among them. Their arrests followed a 5-month narcotics investigation conducted by multiple state and local agencies.

“Approximately 3.5 pounds of methamphetamine that was supplied by this organization was seized by law enforcement in Habersham, Banks, and Jackson counties,” says Trent Hillsman, Special Agent in Charge of the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office. During their investigation, Hillsman says officers determined the suspects were responsible for “regularly distributing kilograms of methamphetamine to a large area spanning North Georgia and South Carolina.”

Agents arrested 33-year-old Bradley Jones of Alto and charged him with trafficking methamphetamine. They charged 28-year-old Kala Caddell of Alto with possession of meth. The two other suspects arrested are from South Carolina. They’re identified as Jon Michael Jolley, 36, of Gaffney, and Nicholas Matson, 26, of Chesnee. Both are charged with trafficking methamphetamine.

The GBI’s ARDEO is overseeing the investigation with assistance from deputies in Banks, Habersham, and Lumpkin counties, Commerce and Riverdale police, the Georgia Department of Corrections, and State Patrol.

Hillsman says the investigation is still active and ongoing.
