Four teenagers are now in custody in connection with the July first shooting death of a 21-year-old White County man.
WRWH.com reports three more suspects were arrested Monday as part of the ongoing investigation into the murder of Savon Williams. Williams was found shot to death in the basement of a house at 50 Eagle Ridge Trail in Cleveland. One of the suspects called 9-1-1 and reported the shooting as a suicide. Upon closer examination, investigators say that initial report just didn’t add up.
The alleged shooter, 17-year-old Christopher Courville of Cleveland was arrested last week and charged with murder. He now faces additional charges of theft by receiving, making a false statement and violating the Georgia Gang Statute (being a member of a gang).
White County Chief Deputy Bob Ingram says 19-year old Chase Wilson, 18-year-old Conner Daniel and a 16-year-old juvenile were arrested Monday. All are from Cleveland and all are charged under the Georgia Gang Statute.
In addition, Wilson is charged with entering an auto; Daniel is charged with entering an auto, tampering with evidence, concealing a death and providing a false statement; and the juvenile, who can not be identified because of his age, is charged with entering an auto.
Ingram identified all these suspects as being members of the gang BTA, Bout That Action.
According to Ingram, the gun used in the homicide was stolen from an auto in White County a couple of days before the shooting.
While investigators believe they’ve identified all who were involved, Ingram says the case remains open and they’ll continue to pursue any additional information they receive. The GBI is assisting in the investigation.
