Alleged drug trafficker nabbed in undercover sting operation

A Loganville, Georgia man is in jail after allegedly trying to sell a pound of methamphetamine to an undercover drug agent in Banks County. Authorities say 35-year old Wilfred Rivera met with the agent after agreeing to sell him the drugs.

A pound of meth has a street value of $49,000.

According to Mitchell Posey of the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office (ARDEO), Rivera was carrying an H&K 40 caliber handgun in his waist band when he showed up for the meeting. He was arrested and charged with trafficking methamphetamine, possession of misdemeanor marijuana and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
