A Clayton woman is in jail charged with trafficking methamphetamine after being arrested during a traffic stop in her hometown. 26-year old Taylor Mason was taken into custody Friday.
Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office (ARDEO) Special Agent in Charge Mitchell Posey says Mason was arrested after a search of her during the traffic stop. In a press release Posey states, “Numerous complaints of Mason selling illegal narcotics led to the month long investigation by Rabun County authorities.”
He says Rabun County authorities found approximately 50 grams of methamphetamine. The estimated street value of the seized narcotics is $5,500.
Mason was transported to the Rabun County Detention Center.
Her arrest was part of a joint operation between the Clayton County Police Department, Rabun County Sheriff’s Office and ARDEO. It’s the latest in a growing number of drug arrests made recently in Northeast Georgia.
