Alexia (Alecia) Anne Kennedy-Clutter, age 48, passed away in her home, surrounded by family, on January 17th, 2019 at 12:17 p.m. after a long battle with urothelial cancer.
She was born on July 23rd, 1970 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Corvallis, Oregon to her mother Colleen Wall and Robert Bell. She was an avid reader, writer, and active student, participating in volleyball, softball, cheerleading, tennis and swim team as well as being a part of honor societies and her high school yearbook staff. She graduated from South Albany High School in Albany, Oregon in 1988.
After becoming a loving mother of two, she went on to receive a Bachelor’s Degree in English and a Master’s Degree in Educational Curriculum from Oregon State University where she found her passion for teaching. In 1999, she began her 19-year career of teaching middle and high school students as well as coaching softball and cheerleading, where she coached her squad through a state and regional title wins.
She moved down to Georgia in 2005, where she continued her passion for learning and teaching at Habersham Central High School and Rabun County Middle School, as well as adding one more daughter to her family in 2011. Her wit and tough love made her a fiercely adored educator and mentor – leaving a mark on nearly all of her students. Her dedication and love for her students is only surpassed by her compassion for her own children. She made herself a pillar in every community she was a part of, and her loss will be felt for years to come.
Alexia is preceded in death by her grandparents Melvin and Ruth Wirth and father Robert F. Bell.
She is survived by her parents Colleen and Bill Wall, brother Aaron Bell, her children: Colton Webber, Cassidy Webber (Holloway), and Taryn Clutter, grandma Verna Bell, and numerous other aunts, uncles, and cousins.
