Aleck Sim Holbrooks, age 63 of Mt. Airy, passed away Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at his residence.
Born in Habersham County on November 21, 1952, he was a son of Louise Smith Holbrooks of Cornelia and the late Winford Holbrooks. Mr. Holbrooks was retired from TenCate with 30 years of service and of the Baptist faith.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his loving wife of 39 years, Teresa Barden Holbrooks; son and daughter-in-law, Eric & Mariah Holbrooks and their children, Aiyana, Jadyn, and Saryneti of Mt. Airy; son and daughter-in-law, Chad & Jamie Holbrooks and their children, Logan, Noah, Hunter, and Kensley of Clarkesville; daughter and son-in-law, Kelly & Chad Cobb and their son, Collin; sister and brother-in-law, Frances and Larry Burns of Demorest; brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Wanda Holbrooks of Cornelia; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services are 2:00 pm Thursday, December 3, 2015, at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Matt Thomas, Rev. Chad Holbrooks and Chaplin Ralph Atkinson officiating.
The family will receive friends from 1-3 and 5-8 pm on Wednesday.
Flowers are accepted or the family requests that donations be made to the Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center, North Team, 2150 Limestone Parkway, Ste 222, Gainesville, GA 30501.
The Holbrooks family would like to thank all the family, friends, and hospice staff of Northeast Georgia Medical Center – Trisha, Kara, and Jennifer for the love and care shown to Aleck and his family during the last few weeks.
