Adopt-A-Pet: Tennis and Pickleball

Tennis and Pickleball have been a hot topic in Habersham over the past few weeks, which is why they’re confused about why they haven’t been adopted yet.

These two pups, who are available for adoption now, prove something we all need to hear: even dogs with “dueling” names can be best friends.

Meet Tennis

Meet Tennis, an adult female dog who loves to explore and spend time with her best friend, Pickleball.

Tennis was surrendered with Pickleball to the animal shelter on March 14, where she has been waiting patiently for her chance to find a fur-ever home since. She’s sweet and friendly and enjoys spending time with her best friend Pickleball, who she loves to run around with during playtime.

When it comes to playing, she might not be great at fetch, but she’ll do her best to try to catch a tennis ball. She prefers to sniff around and get her zoomies out by taking a few laps around the yard.

She’s also a sucker for a good cuddle— just like her friend Pickleball. When it comes to pets and kisses, Tennis will be right next to you, making sure to get all the attention you’re willing to give while making you feel a little extra love, too.

Meet Pickleball

Meet Pickleball, a well-behaved, sweet girl who loves treats, snuggles and new friends.

Tennis has helped Pickleball come out of her shell during playtime at the shelter after they were both surrendered, offering her patience to her shy friend. Pickleball loves snacks and is a big fan of hugs, snuggling up right next to anyone she can get close to for a quick cuddle session.

Pickleball is a little timid, but with the support she gets from her friend Tennis and a little extra kindness from a loving human, she comes out of her shell, ready to get a run-in and sniff out new things.

While she might not like squeaky toys (too scary!) or tennis balls (not really her thing), she’s a wonderful companion with a big smile and an even bigger heart.

If you’re interested in adopting Tennis, Pickleball or any of the other animals at the Habersham County Animal Shelter, please call the shelter at (706) 839-0195 to set up an appointment.
