There’s nothing quite like the love of an animal; they become our best friends and family members seemingly overnight, and when they’re adopted from a shelter and given a second chance, that love is twice as meaningful.
As we approach Valentine’s Day, now is a great time to find a furry friend to share the love with, and this week’s adoptable pets have so much love to give, they practically have heart-eyes.
Meet Hair of the Dog and Rosie, two “mew” kids on the block that want to be loving you fur-ever.
Meet Hair of the Dog
Meet Hair of the Dog, the last cat left to find a home after being rescued by Habersham County Animal Care and Control from a hoarding case in Clarkesville. More than 100 cats from the same case have found their homes, and as he finishes his treatments for ringworm, this loverboy is ready to go home.
“I love, love, love people,” he says. “I love to see people, I love to cuddle with people, I love to get scratches from people, I just love people.”
You’ll find Hair of the Dog reaching out of his quarantine kennel for a pet from the shelter staff as they help him on the road to recovery, and with just a day left in his final round of treatments, he’s beyond excited to find his human.
“I’ve been waiting for this day for a long time,” he says. “Once I’m all finished with treatments and adoptable, I’ll get to go home with a person who will give me all the snuggles and attention I need. It’s something I haven’t had before, and I’m so excited to have it.”
Meet Rosie
Meet Rosie, a sweet, gentle female terrier mix who just wants someone to love.
“People don’t look at me very often,” Rosie says. “They pass by my kennel and walk on to the chattier, higher energy dogs. I don’t know why, I’m a good girl, I’m just quiet.”
Rosie would love to have a quilt to snuggle up with on a chilly day and a human of her own to spend her days with. She gets along with other animals and kids just fine, too, making everyone around her feel the love with the sweetest puppy dog kisses.
“I’m laid back, but I’m always happy to make a new friend,” Rosie says. “I think if someone gave me a chance, they’d find out that I might be the perfect puzzle piece to fit into their family.”
