ACCPD, nonprofit team up to keep kids safe

(Athens-Clarke County Police Department)

The Athens-Clarke County Police Department (ACCPD) and Safe Kids Athens are teaming up to offer a Child Safety Seat Check on March 12, 2025. The event will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Beech Haven Baptist Church, located on West Broad Street in Athens.

Sgt. Bob Schulte of ACCPD emphasizes the importance of proper car seat installation in preventing child injuries while driving.

“Car seat safety and the correct installation is essential to prevent child injuries,” he said. “ACCPD, along with Safe Kids Athens, want to ensure that all parents and guardians know the proper way to install car seats, reducing the risk of injuries in the vehicle.”
