The Georgia State Patrol says four people were injured in a two-vehicle wreck this afternoon in Demorest.

It happened around 4 p.m. at the intersection of GA 115 and Fairview School Road.

Trooper Jason Stephens says a 1994 Honda Accord driven by 50-year-old Cynthia Bruner of Cornelia was stopped on the highway attempting to turn left onto Fairview School Road when it was rear-ended by a 2011 Dodge Journey. The impact crushed the rear of the Honda and smashed in the front of the Dodge.

Both vehicles were carrying passengers. Stephens says, fortunately, no one was sitting in the back seat of the Honda.

Bruner and her passenger, 15-year-old Alexa Moye of Cornelia, were injured. So were the driver and passenger in the Dodge. They’re identified as 28-year-old Tamara Loden and 3-year old Joslin Loden of Cleveland.

They were all transported to Habersham Medical Center for treatment. Stephens says all four were properly restrained and none of their injuries appeared to be life-threatening.

Despite a heavy downpour in Clarkesville just prior to the wreck, Stephens says weather was not a factor. He says the road was still dry at the time of the accident.

Habersham EMS, Sheriff’s Office, and Fire units responded to the scene.

The section of GA 115 near where the accident happened was temporarily closed as crews worked to clear the area.

Loden is charged with following too closely.
