(Cleveland) – Early voting is now over in Georgia, and White County residents made great efforts to turn out and support their candidates.
Lisa Manning, Chief Voter Registrar for White County advised Friday afternoon that on the last day of early voting a total of 560 people cast ballots. That help push the early voting totals to a record, with 5,422 ballots cast for the three week period, that compares to 2,277 in 2014, said Manning.
That’s well over one-quarter of the county’s registered voters.
These numbers show an increase each week in the number of weekly early voters. According to information provided by Manning, in week one the number of voters was around 1,500, increasing to 1,800 for the second week and more than 1,900 for this final week. bringing the total to 5,422 registered voters, or 30.12 percent.
Even with a large number of early votes, cast election officials expect a large number to show up at the polls around the county next Tuesday election day.
