A former plant manager for Integrity Foods in Athens has been arrested and charged with 15 felony warrants, including 14 counts of ID fraud and one count of theft by taking.
The investigation into James Henderson Kennamer’s alleged illegal activities began after company officials filed a formal complaint with the police in May.
Integrity Foods fired Kennamer after company officials discovered he was creating false employment records for former employees and had their checks direct deposited into accounts under his control. The alleged fraud resulted in the company’s suspected loss of $3 million.
According to police, the thefts are believed to have occurred over a six-year period, a time frame disclosed when the company began receiving letters from Social Security about those employees receiving money after they no longer worked for Integrity.
