“A Christmas Story” ushers in the season at HCT

A Christmas classic returns to the stage at the Habersham Community Theater this week.

Based on the 1983 movie of the same name, A Christmas Story is the comedic tale of one boy’s quest for the present of his dreams – a Red Ryder carbine action B.B. gun.

Along the way, the young boy named Ralphie tries to convince his parents, his teacher, and Santa that it’s the perfect Christmas gift. Only problem is, they all give him the same dreaded response, “You’ll shoot your eye out!”

The determined, resilient Ralph doesn’t let that keep him from his goal.

A Christmas Story opens its ten-day run on Friday, December 1 at 7:30 p.m.

Other scheduled performances are Dec. 2, 7, 8, 9, 15, and 16 at 7:30 p.m. Sunday matinees are scheduled Dec. 3, 10, and 17 at 2 p.m.
