It is hard to believe that we are almost to the end of this year, and the holiday season is upon us! The holidays have a special way of bringing to mind everything I am thankful for. Today, I challenge you to think about 10 things you are thankful for. The Lord is capable of changing the outlook of our lives if we focus our hearts and our minds on thankfulness. Here is my list, not in any particular order:
- I am thankful for the Lord’s grace in my life. I am a sinner, and I mess up all the time, but God still loves me and forgives me. I am thankful that God works through my life, so that I may bless and encourage others as well.
- I am thankful for my little family. I am married to a wonderful, Godly man who loves me unconditionally. We also have a sweet dog, who is part of the family.
- I am thankful for our home. We recently moved into a new home in Habersham, and the Lord provided abundantly more than we could have expected. We love our new home.
- I am thankful for warm soup on cold, rainy days. We cashed in on a local restaurant gift card for lunch, and it was a great decision.
- I am thankful for daylight savings time. Although it often means darker nights, it means extra sleep, brighter mornings, and the beginning of winter.
- I am thankful for a church who loves to participate in the activities of the community. I believe that the Lord can use our willing hearts, and I love being part of an organization that desires to love and serve its community.
- I am thankful for our extended families. They showed up, all of them, to help us move a couple weeks ago, and we couldn’t have done it without them!
- I am thankful for my health. After having surgery in August to repair my foot, I am finally starting to walk normally and (soon) run again. My doctors, therapists, and family have been my encouragement over the past few months.
- I am thankful for my parents who talk with me every day.
- I am thankful for sweet quiet time in prayer. My time with the Lord sets the tone for my day if I am diligent to wake up and spend it with Him.
I am thankful for another day to glorify God with my attitude of thankfulness! Thank you for letting me share today’s ten, and I encourage you to make your list too!
