A “Biddyful” Return

The Biddy sisters are back in town for a reprise of their popular show, A Biddy Full Day. Join Jan Hames (Mildred), Lynda Smith (Maude) and Alta Mosely (Myrtle) as they take on the Habersham Community Theatre once again for this hilarious show written by Millie Adcox and Dr. Jim Cannon. The show runs April 17-19 and April 23-26.

“It is so wonderful to bring back the Biddy sisters to the community of Clarkesville and its very own historic Habersham Theater,” says Millie Adcox who will be directing the revival.  “The characters in A Biddy Full Day, from the sisters to everyone they meet during one difficult day, show simply that troubles can be faced as long as friends and family help,” adds Adcox. “Siblings often squabble, just like the sisters do in the play, but just like them, it can often end in laughter and stories that are the gist of family get-togethers.”

The show was originally performed by the Georgia Mountain Players in Gainesville, Georgia, and was first produced in 2007 to sold-out audiences. All sisters, Mildred, Maude and Myrtle will be played by the same cast as in 2007. Returning cast members include Justin Dudkiewicz, Jody Wall, Barbara Grizzard, Jerry Davis, Lee Mulkey and Steve Grizzard. Newly added cast members include Jack Molnar, Jennifer Benson and Carmen Adams.

“The process of producing a play can be arduous, beginning with casting,” says Adcox. “You really aren’t sure whether the actors will be just right for the role or if they will be able to bring to the character what you have written until you are in the rehearsal process. But with the Biddy Cast, I was sure of the actors and even those who weren’t in the 2007 production are familiar faces to the HCT stage. Now, after several weeks of rehearsal, it’s like coming home. I couldn’t think of a better cast to bring A Biddy Full Day back to HCT,” says Adcox.
