The Clarkesville Gazebo, painted white for many years, will soon get a facelift with added highlights of Hancock Green, Sherwood Green and New London Burgundy.
The changes were approved at the Clarkesville City Council meeting Monday evening, June 6.
A building mural, which was also approved by the Council, will be added to a building at the corner of Monroe Street and Old Historic 441, across the street from the gazebo. The mural can be changed periodically and preparations have already been made for holding the fabric on the side of the building which faces the gazebo.
In other business, Sherry Callahan, representing Clarkesville Business & Community Association (CBCA), presented a gift of patriotic banners to be used on patriotic holidays to the City of Clarkesville.
The Council adopted an Intergovernmental Agreement between the City of Clarkesville and Habersham County to delineate usage, use fees and other items allowing the Clarkesville public safety departments access to Habersham County MOTOTRBO CONNECT PLUS DIGITAL Radio System.
The City Council approved a request by Dale Jones for a license to sell beer and wine by the package at her business, Travelin Jones Clothiers located at 120 West Green Street.
The Council also approved the 2016-2017 Archway Partnership Memorandum of Understanding. After a brief Executive Session, the Council adjourned without further action.
