Melvin Kimbrell, age 60 of Lula, passed away Monday, November 24, 2014, at his residence.
Born in Demorest on November 12, 2014, Melvin was the son of Kathryn Yarber Hix of Alto and the late Tommy Loyd Kimbrell, Jr. Mr. Kimbrell was retired from Coca-Cola as an account sales rep and he also was the owner and operator of L & M Distributing. He was of the Baptist faith and in his spare time he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
In addition to his father, Mr. Kimbrell was preceded in death by his first wife, Sandra Kimbrell and second wife, Regina Kimbrell.
In addition to his mother, surviving are daughter and son-in-law, Sandy & Kevin Ridley of Lula; stepdaughter, Sonya Carlan; grandchildren, Meaghan, Cade, and Cody Ridley of Lula; step grandchildren, Blake Gibson and Chaz Kimbrell; sister, Brenda (David) Abernathy of Alto; brothers, Gene (Janie) Swinehart of Baldwin and Bobby Robinson of Dahlonega.
Funeral services are 2:00 pm Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at Welcome Home Baptist Church with Rev. Raymond Payne and Rev. Sanford Kimbrell officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 & 6-8 pm Tuesday.
