DAN B. GRIFFIN, age 77 of Lula, Georgia went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 01, 2014 at his residence following a period of declining health.
Born in Lula, Georgia on January 24, 1937, Dan was a son of the late Cary & Evelyn Garrison Griffin. He was employed as an engineer for many years with the Georgia Department of Transportation. Mr. Griffin was a member of the Antioch Holiness Church in Lula where he served as a former deacon and Sunday School Superintendent. Most of all, Dan enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his great-grandchildren and family vacations to the beach.
Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years, Thelma Hill Griffin; son and daughter-in-law, Carroll & Kim Griffin; grandchildren, Ashley & Eric Brown; Megan & Jonathan Corn; Cary Griffin; great-grandchildren, Blake Brown & Daisy Brown; brothers & sister-in-law, Lamb Griffin; Dwight & Karen Griffin; sister and brother-in-law, Hilda & Billy Mealor; all of Lula; several nieces, nephews, cousins, beloved in-laws, other relatives, & friends.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 04, 2014 at the Antioch Holiness Church in Lula with Pastor Jacob Armour and the Rev. Marty Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with the Rev. Larry Dyer officiating at the graveside.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, November 02, 2014 from 6 until 8 p.m. and again on Monday, November 03, 2014 from 6 until 9 p.m.
