The rains came yesterday, sounding like angry bees outside my window. I watched as a nearby neighbor ran out to roll up her car windows. The gush came about as quickly as it left.
This morning as I checked on my garden the ground felt moist and the leaves and flowers stood firmly, prepared to face the heat of the day. They needed the rain.
And to such is life.
The choice is ours to rejoice. Rejoice in all aspects of our lives. It doesn’t mean that we won’t be sad or depressed at times. It is the attitude to know that God is with us always, in all situations, in all trials, in all disappointments, and in all times of sorrow. Rejoice knowing He is with us.
“As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love. 10 If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in his love. 11 These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.” John 15:9-11
Whether rain or shine today, God is with us. For me, just knowing He stands beside me, drives in my automobile, walks the aisles of Walmart with me, visits in the parking lot with my friends, and orders at the McDonald’s Drive-Thru – every moment of my life – He is with me.
I pray you are filled with His goodness and mercy today as He goes through your day with you.
