James Elbert Gibson

James Elbert Gibson, age 72 of Cornelia, passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2016, at his residence.

Born in Mountain City, Georgia on May 14, 1943, he was a son of the late Elsord “Red” Loudermilk and Martha Loudermilk. Mr. Gibson was formally employed in the automotive industry and was of the Baptist faith. In his spare time, he enjoyed baseball, racing, fishing, time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Surviving are daughters, Amy Meister of Dahlonega and Sirena Gibson of Toccoa; grandchildren, Cody Meister, MaKayla Gibson, Judson Hunt; great grandchild, Chanslie Meister; sisters, Nancy Kimsey of Mt. Airy, Virginia Clark of Clyde, NC, Donna Surrett of Marble, NC; he is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and other family and friends.

Private family services will be held at a later time.
