(Cleveland)- The White County Chamber of Commerce and Babyland General Hospital have announced that the parade, which is normally a part of the Magical Easter Eggstravaganza, has been cancelled as part of this year’s event. Since it’s inception the Extravaganza parade has made its way through the downtown Cleveland courthouse square.
Cindy Bailey, Chamber of Commerce President said, during a recent board of directors meeting it was decided to cancel the event, because of the lack of participation. Bailey said, “with one month to go they had only one parade applicant.” The board took into consideration that the parade participation has declined since the festivities were moved from downtown to the new Babyland location.
Bailey says it’s possible that the parade will most likely be reinstated in the future. “Next year we are looking at a potential new route that hopefully will create more excitement and participation, which will incorporate the festivities at Babyland,” said Bailey.
The Magical Easter Eggstravaganza, now in it’s 28th year, is scheduled for Saturday, March 19th. The Magical Easter Eggstravaganza is held on the grounds of the Babyland General Hospital, located at 300 NOK Drive in Cleveland.
