David Wilson Burns

Memorial services for David Wilson Burns, age 73, of the Batesville Community, Clarkesville will be held on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at 6:00 PM from the Community Baptist Church. Rev. Robert Clark will officiate and the family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 4:30 PM until the service.

Mr. Burns passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2016 at his residence.

Born on March 14, 1942 in Habersham County, Mr. Burns was the son of the late Willie Edward and Lizzie Phillips Burns. He was retired with 40 years of loyal service from Scovill Fasteners where he was a tool setter. Mr. Burns was a member of Community Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, Mr. Burns is preceded in death by daughter Teresa Dana Burns, sisters Julie Armour and Eunice Shirley, and brothers Oscar Burns and Leroy Burns.

Survivors include his wife Lexie “Tex” Hamilton Burns of the Batesville Community, Clarkesville, daughter Christy “Crickett” Allen and husband Carl of Cornelia, son John Burns and wife Kalinka of Fairbanks, Alaska, son Brent Burns of Demorest, brother Nelson Burns of Alto, sisters Nancy Cunningham of Cumming, Frances Wade of Cornelia, Vernie Johnson (Andy) of Mt. Airy, Minnie Lee Burns of Cornelia, 19 grandchildren, and special family members Dawn, Steve, Lisa, Randy, Shane, and Shawn.
