K9 OFFICER FALCO

K9 OFFICER FALCO, with The Habersham County Sheriff’s Office, passed away on January 29th 2016.

Falco, a 5 year old Belgian Malinois K-9 Officer was lost in a tragic fire incident at his handler’s home. Falco was a dual purpose K-9 who joined his handler and partner Corporal Johnathan Thomas at the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office in 2013. Falco was used at the department for narcotics detection, human tracking, and suspect apprehension. During his service with the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office, Falco help assisted with several captures of suspected criminals. Falco also assisted in the seizure of many narcotics. Falco and Johnathan was recognized by the National Narcotic Detector Dog Association (NNDDA) and the American Working Dog Association (AWDA) for the past three years.

Memorial Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 4th 2016 at The Torch Worship Center, 800 Cannon Bridge Road, Demorest, Georgia 30535.

A procession will begin from the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office to The Torch Worship Center, any public safety wanting to be in the procession and can be in their vehicle please be at the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office at 1000 Detention Drive, Clarkesville, Georgia 30523, by 12:30. The procession will leave at 1:00 p.m.

All others attending the service only please arrive at The Torch Worship Center by 2:00 p.m.

Falco was not only a loyal partner and Officer, he was a friend and family member to Johnathan, his family and many other law enforcement officers. Falco will sorely be missed and never forgotten.
