(Cleveland)- A Cleveland man is in jail charged with several drug and weapons violations. Cleveland Police Chief John Foster says 57-year old Michael Wayne Sharp was arrested on January 28.
In an email release, Foster says the Cleveland Police Department, with assistance from the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office, arrested Sharp at a residence on West Kytle Street in Cleveland. Sharp was wanted on a state probation warrant for previous drug and assault charges. He was arrested without incident and found to be in possession of approximately an ounce of Methamphetamine with a street value of $2,900, a 380 automatic handgun, hypodermic needles and other drug related objects.
According to Chief Foster, Sharp was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to distribute, Possession of drug related items, Possession of a Firearm by a convicted Felon, and Possession of a Firearm during the commission of a Felony.
Sharp remains in the White County Detention Center.
