2 Pieces of Paper

2 Corinthians 5:10,”For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.”

I once heard a sermon. The preacher gave each member of the congregation 2 pieces of paper. On the first piece, everyone was to write what they wanted to do with their life. Basically, what the perfect life would look like to them. Many wrote about money, careers, vacation homes, new cars, education, and travel.

He then asked them to take out the 2nd paper and write what they would do with their life if they knew Jesus was coming in 30 days.

The comparison of the 2 pages was remarkably different, as you can imagine.

God has gifted us with talents for a reason: to honor and serve His Kingdom and in so doing, to impact the lives of those around us.

If we knew we would stand before God in 30 days to answer to the King of kings and Lord of lords for all that we had done, how different would our days be? If the answer to this question is – VERY different – it is probably time to reevaluate our lives.

Today, I challenge you to live for Him; to do what He wants you to do and not what you want to do. Keep His Word in your heart so that in all  you say and do, you will represent Him.
