After impact, the pickup rolled several times, landing upside down in the median. Crawford says three females in the pickup were visibly injured and taken by private vehicle to Habersham County Medical Center. He says none of their injuries appeared to be serious. Their names have not been released.

The accident snarled traffic on Highway 365 just south of Duncan Bridge Road in Baldwin for more than an hour as emergency crews worked to clear the scene. Firefighters from Baldwin cordoned off the area where the truck overturned because it was leaking gas. Northbound traffic was detoured. The highway reopened around 9:15 p.m.

The driver of the Buick, described as a white male in his late fifties, was detained at the scene on suspicion of DUI. Crawford says charges are pending.
